I often receive enquiries about how someone could go about working with me at The Sewing Room so I thought I would see what I could do. As I am not there myself yet full time, (but I will be there for 4 days or more in 2016), I thought I would offer someone the chance to work voluntarily with me for a few hours a week.
If anyone has any spare time available either on a Wednesday morning (10 – 1pm), or on a Saturday either (10 – 1pm or 1 – 4pm), please get in touch. There are a number of areas I would need help with including prep work for classes, helping with pattern production, general care of the Sewing Room, serving customers, SEO, leaflet dropping with me, or as of 2016 I will also require a hand to do local craft fairs, etc.
Benefits for those who can offer a hand will be to gain valuable work experience, (for which I can give a reference for if needed). You will also meet new people, gain an understanding in how the business works and hopefully gain some enjoyment from it. Not to forget the sewing knowledge you would probably pick up along the way.
It is open to anyone 16 years or over. Travel expenses can be reimbursed. See the vacancies section for how to apply.
