A Woodland Tea Party

We spent the whole day stitching and chatting, with a lovely lunch provided half way through, while fundraising for the Woodland Trust at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve! What better way to spend a mindful day with friends and helping to save nature at the same time! Win Win.

Happy November!

We had a lovely day for our 'Autumn Stitching Tea Party' last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who attended and who helped in raising funds for the 'Woodland Trust UK'.

I'm pleased to say we made £155 on the day for the Trust from our raffle and from each ticket sold! So thank you not only from me but from the Trust too (see below). The payment has been sent today.

With a woodland autumn themed party we had to have an autumnal project, so with the focus being on trees I thought we might make some 'Autumn Leaf Candle Mats', which also look good under a lamp too, with little sparkly beads added to reflect the light.

Coasters were optional if the mats were finished.

Take a look at some of the work.

These little leaves I found were ideal for stitching onto a base mat, of which there were a choice of colours.

I always think this project shouldn't take too long haha, but yes not many got round to making coasters! But that's part of the fun, they don't need to be finished on the day and some were finished when they got home, but progress was good.

I love how the group got creative with their leaf layout! What do you think?

I wish I could show you them all, but my website might crash, so here is a table overview at the end.

The mats actually work as well!

I used mine when I got home.

The next 'Spring Tea Party' is on Saturday 1st March 2025.

It is full I'm afraid, but if you want me to add your name to the waiting list, I often have cancellations for one reason or another. Just get in touch.

The charity info will be released nearer Christmas.

No one ever knows what they are going to make until the day, its always a surprise!

There a few spaces for the summer tea party still remaining which will be available via the shop very soon.
