This pattern is ideal for beginners, or maybe for helping a child learn to make their first doll's quilt, (but please don't allow children to use a rotary cutter - scissors should be best if supervised by an adult, or maybe an adult can cut the pieces first?).  The pattern also gives details on how to make a scrappy version of the same quilt and in different sizes.
