“Inspiring People to Pick up a Needle”
Based in: Unit 14, ‘Vane Tempest Hall’, Maynards Row, Gilesgate, Durham, DH1 1QF
The Sewing Room offers a range of classes covering a variety of sewing techniques, including starter classes in applique and embroidery, patchwork, quilting, dressmaking and much more. Aimed at complete beginners and upwards, or for those wishing to try something new. There is a collection of Janome sewing machines for you to use, (unless you prefer to bring your own).
Never used a sewing machine? Then take the introductory sewing machine class and you will be ready to attempt the rest.
There is an ‘Introduction to the machine’ included in our new ‘Learn to Sew in a Day‘ workshop.
Every customer is important – therefore if only one person books onto a class, the class will still go ahead. You will have the benefit of one-to-one tuition for only the cost of a class.
Small class sizes – To ensure everyone has adequate tuition, there will be a maximum class size of 6 and sometimes 4.
Disability Access – The Sewing Room is on the ground floor with only a small step (2 or 3 inches high), down into the classroom. A disabled toilet is directly opposite the classroom door.
For the Sewing Room Opening Times please see here.
Also available are One-to-one sessions, which we can arrange at a mutually convenient time. Contact me on: 077913 06497

Then make your own using a copy of the ‘sewing Machine Doorstop’ pattern, see here for details.
Just want to make a patchwork cushion? Maybe a memory cushion like this?
